DEEP GREEN WILDERNESS PROGRAMS

Deep Green Wilderness offers a variety of education programs throughout the year.  Each program is designed to highlight different aspects of the Salish Sea and take advantage of our beautiful vessel. Whether you are a teen hoping to get some college credit for the summer, a family that would like to learn to sail or a teacher who would like to get their class out on the water, join us onboard for the sailing experience of a lifetime.

Regardless of the destination or program focus, you can count on full participation in the crew.  Our hands on sailing curriculum means you will spend time at the helm, the chart table and learning about the ins and outs of sailing a classic sailboat.

Our inquiry-based approach to teaching marine science gives students full ownership over their learning experience.

Along with sailing and marine biology our two-week summer program has an environmental policy component as well.  Students can look forward to learning about key policy issues that affect the Salish Sea.  Through guest lectures from stakeholders, our own research, and group conversation, we introduce the complexity behind maintaining the Salish Sea as an ecologically and culturally healthy ecosystem.
